Volunteering opportunities at the Robin Hood Festival
The Robin Hood Festival at RSPB Sherwood Forest is all set once again for this August.
And there will be lots of opportunities to get involved in the Festival as a volunteer.
Events and activities take place every weekend through the month, starting on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August with the Knights of Nottingham Medieval Jousting Display Team’s twice-daily arena show.
Weekend two, on 10th and 11th August, is Fantasy in the Greenwood, when the world of the Witcher, monster hunters and other mystical creatures come to Sherwood!
The Galactic Knights and the Academy of the Wolf make their Festival debuts, with workshops on combat, potion-making and monster theory.
There’s a weekend devoted to the work of wildlife organisations and celebrating the forest’s Site of Special Scientific Interest status on 17th and 18th August.
Bank Holiday Weekend (24th-26th August) is the Grand Finale, with The Sherwood Outlaws taking centre stage and a celebration of Nottinghamshire Day.
There will be traders too, with lots of unique and unusual gifts.
Admission to walk on to the reserve is free, although there is a special event parking charge of £15 per day on selected dates and there will be a charge for some activities, such as archery and axe-throwing.
