THE SKATEPARK
As many readers may be aware, part of the Skatepark at Jubilee Park on Mansfield Road, has fallen into disrepair, partly due to vandalism, and is not safe to use.
Whilst the majority of the attraction is built of concrete and remains perfectly safe and usable, the area affected is built predominantly of timber.
The Parish Council has raised the funds to replace it with a concrete structure, together with improved landscaping.
The work involved is quite extensive and will be undertaken in the autumn. Before then, the contractor will arrange for the demolition and removal of the damaged section of the skatepark.
In the meantime, the wooden section of the facility remains out of use for safety reasons.
The skatepark is much valued by its users and, taking their input into account, the Parish Council is committed to maintaining this attraction whilst also looking into adding further sports and recreation facilities on the site in the future.
