The Robin Hood Festival returns
The Robin Hood Festival is back at Sherwood Forest this summer.
The festivities begin with Films in the Forest, a weekend of outdoor cinema from 25th – 27th July. There are six films to choose from, including two Robin Hood movies – Prince of Thieves, starring Kevin Costner, and the Disney animated classic version from 1973.

The Knights of Nottingham ride into the forest once again for two days of spectacular jousting action on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August.
All manner of curious creatures and characters will be among the ancient oaks of the outlaws’ woodland for the Fantasy in the Greenwood Weekend on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th August.
And the Sherwood Outlaws will be headlining the Grand Finale weekend from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th August with their retelling of the Sherwood Forest legend in their own inimitable style in the arena.
There will be comedy with the Medieval Maniax, birds of prey shows with Go Active Falconry, magic, music, children’s entertainment, storytelling, historical re-enactment, and so much more besides.
A veritable village of traders selling unique and unusual gifts will also be there.
As usual, no booking or tickets are required, so admission is free. There is a £15 special event parking charge (£12 for RSPB members) and a charge for some activities, such as archery.
