The Major Oak Participation Group is seeking to recruit a young member

This is a voluntary role and would ideally suit a sixth- form student who can contribute by bringing the invaluable younger person’s perspective to the Group.

You would be joining a group of local people who are users of Major Oak Medical Practice in Edwinstowe.

We hold meetings about six times a year at the Medical Centre and we also help to produce a calendar of health talks aimed at patients of the practice.

The PPG acts as a “critical friend” to the Practice and it seeks to establish and maintain optimal service standards.

No previous experience is needed, and the role can provide you with the opportunity to gain the knowledge of primary healthcare in your community, which could prove to be a valuable component of your Personal Statement or CV, going forward.

Meetings are informal and can be flexibly timed to allow for your student timetable. They normally take 60 to 90 minutes and light refreshments are provided.
