Sherwood Forest Brass taste success at Mansfield Music Festival

Last month the band performed in the Brass Band Ensemble section of the Festival. Playing two contrasting pieces, Stal Himmel and Puttin on the Ritz, the band gained a mark of 90 classifying it as an Outstanding Performance. The adjudicator was very complementary in her comments praising the rhythms, dynamics and blend of parts. There was also a special mention for our young percussionist Matilda for keeping such good timing.

We are now back in the band room working on our summer programme and items for our Anniversary concert later in the year. 2025 is our 25^th Anniversary Year therefore if you have any memories / photos / programme material etc. of Sherwood Forest Brass, formerly Thoresby Youth Band we would be delighted to receive this.

If you play an instrument or have played in the past come along and join in with us on a Monday evening. If you don’t read music we will teach you. Tuition is FREE.
