Proposed Parking Restrictions - A6075 Ollerton Road & Lansbury Road
Double yellow lines and bus stop clearway.
Via East Midlands Ltd is working on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to deliver highway services in Nottinghamshire. Concerns have been raised about inconsiderate and obstructive parking along Lansbury Road, Edwinstowe at its junction with A6075 Ollerton Road. This is causing visibility issues at this junction.
To help alleviate these problems, it is proposed to introduce No Waiting At Any Time (Double Yellow Lines) at the above location. It is also proposed to introduce a new 19 metre Bus Stop Clearway to be in operation 24 hours.
The County Council works closely with all public transport operators across the County to identify bus stops that suffer from inconsiderate parking. At the location above, a bus stop clearway is proposed that prohibits other vehicles from parking or waiting at any time at this bus stop, this will be clearly identified with new road markings and signage. The main benefits of bus stop clearways are to:
- Help the bus align with the kerb to enable better access for disabled passengers and pushchair users;
- Ease congestion as a correctly aligned bus will not block the road for other road users;
- Ensure that bus drivers discharge their duty to drop passengers off on the kerb and not on the road;
- Ensure that bus services operate on time and are not unnecessarily delayed.
Further to the initial consultation letter of 1st July 2024, the next stage of the consultation is to publicly advertise the scheme. The advert will be published in the Mansfield and Ashfield Chad and notices will be fixed on site. A plan showing the extents of the ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions (Double Yellow Lines) is attached (Drawing Number H/CLW/4648/01 along with a copy of the Site Notice.
