Change to closing times at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre
The Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre will be open from 10am-4pm each day from Monday 6th November 2023 until the end of February 2024.
This is a change from the previous winter closing time of 4.30pm. The decision to alter timings has been made following a detailed assessment of footfall in and around the Visitor Centre between 4pm and 4.30pm during the winter months over previous years.
The main car park entry barrier will also be closed at 4pm, as will the cemetery barrier at the end of Forest Corner.
We will update on-site notices and our online listings information with the new times.
It will still be possible to exit the main car park at any time after 4pm. However, anyone using the accessible car park or visiting the cemetery must exit by 4pm.
There will be a change to the closure and opening timings at weekends and school holidays for the St John’s Hut car park in Forest Corner. It will be opened at 4pm on these days and locked at 9.30am the following morning.
