A Very Happy Christmas From Your Local Lions Club
Well another Christmas is almost here and Edwinstowe and the Dukeries lions, wish you all a very happy Christmas, and thank all of you for the support that you give us in raising money, which in turn is distributed to all manner of worthy causes.
We all know the awful events that are taking place internationally, and not just wars. Now more than ever love understanding and tolerance is needed. At home to there has and still are huge problems for ordinary people,
The Lions organisation tries to do its bit , but it is never enough, however we can only do what we can do.
Our own club has had a very sad year losing a loved and vital long term member, and in his memory we continue.
As a lot of you know we try and help SANTA visit as many areas in our community as humanly possible, we raise some money and we hopefully put smiles on the faces of children and adults alike,
A huge amount of effort planning and sacrifice goes in to the December events, however, there are always obstacles in our way, lack of helpers, the English weather, illness, etc.
Sometimes we have to re-jig the rota at the last minute, so its a challenge.
I ask everyone to give us a bit of understanding AS WE WILL ALWAYS TRY OUR BEST ! Of course if you want to help us either by donating FREDDOS OR HARIBOS to give to the children, that would be wonderful, also if you fancy a walk with SANTA and our members with a collecting bucket even better.
Please note that the dates below where we will try to be is a good guide, but it could change before this goes to press,
For now we intend to visit Edwinstowe from the 1st to the 6th of December, then Bilsthorpe is the 7th/8th/9th and 10th. Ollerton will follow on the 11th/12th/13th and 14th.
The big TESCO at Ollerton runs from 15th, 16th and 17th. We will be there every day, so IF YOU MISS US COME TO SEE US THERE !
There may well be a few extra sessions after that to try and fill in some of the gaps, thats if we are still standing.
